Doctors... ugh

So I forgot to update on the Doctor situation. So the office of Pool and Turner do not accept new patients when they are in their 3rd trimester. When I called them back saying that the receptionist told me she would talk to Dr. Pool about seeing me, the receptionist said she didn't know who I spoke to, but they never accept patients in their 3rd trimester. So after I got off the phone with her I called OSU main to see if I could get ANY OB/GYN to see me, they also responded that they do not take new patients in their 3rd trimesters. I called 2 more practices and they all said the same thing. I finally called back to Professional for Womens Health (the original practice we went to for the first 27 weeks) Explained the situation that we transfered out and had ONE appointment elsewhere. They told me since we transfered out that they could/would not take me back (they said because the insurance company closed me out, which I think is Bullshit). After that I called the place that we transfered to and asked them if I could have my prenatal checkups with them and deliver on my own at OSU, they said if they wouldn't be able to deliver for me then they could not provide their service. So 30 weeks and nowhere to go. I finally called this other Doctors practice called Premier Womens Health, they told me that they would be able to take me and said that it wasn't right that the other companies were turning me away.

My Husband and I went to see them the next day. They seemed nice enough, we would have much rathered to be with a midwife practice but hopefully we will meet at least one doctor that we really like, who knows. If we don't end up liking them at least we will know that the baby is alright and we can just show up at OSU and a nurse can deliver for us.

Going to the dark side

I just realized that I have been approaching art in the wrong way, I have been making art for me and not making very much money. I am now going to go where no artist wants to go, commercial. I am going to focus on making art for the people, specifically women, housewives, and people who only want "pretty". My roomate was showing me a picture that she took saying how much she loved it, and wanted to frame it. I as a trained art photographer found very little interest in this very common flower photograph. Then it struck me, people seem not to care about the artistic qualities of the photo its more about the things they find familiar as beautiful. I personally find an extremely weathered building to be more interesting than any flower, but maybe that is why no housewife is begging their husband to buy it so she can put it in her kitchen. Today I am going out with my camera to take advantage of the lovely spring flowers and hopefully come back with some money making shots.

Great Pregnancy Terrible System

Who would have thought that it would be so difficult to remove a baby from its mother. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant. I was going to a practice called Professionals for Womens Health for the first 25 weeks. We started worrying and asking questions about the way they run their business. The Midwife that we were seeing seemed annoyed by our questions, because our appts with her are only about 10 mins usually, not the 25 that we made her stay and answer questions. She told us that if we were a week overdue they require that I be induced, her responses didn't seem authentic. Afterwards this left my husband and I a little thrown off and untrusting of PWHealth.

Later that week I made an appt. with Womens Contemporary Health Care, We met with them and loved them, before we could even tell them about how we wanted a natural birth, they told us how they mainly do natural and encourage a natural birth (what you would expect with a midwife) after transfering over to Womens Contemporary, we find out that our insurance will only cover a birth at OSU. Unfortunately Womens Contemporary only delivers at St. Ann's. At this point it leaves me at the beginning of week 30 trying to find someone to deliver our baby.

Yesterday my husband and I went to OSU hospital to ask them how we can even find a practitioner that is covered by our insurance and delivers at OSU. We even asked if we can show up at the hospital and if they would provide us with ANYONE to deliver the baby. They informed us that it is really important to bring our OWN doctor/midwife to the delivery. The lovely receptionist gave us a list of numbers and told us of popular doctors that she sees.

Today I called a 2 Doctor Practice:
Dr. Kathryn S. Pool, MD & Dr. Leslie P. Turner, MD
3535 Fishinger Blvd #280, Hilliard (614) 777-1440

I talked to the receptionist and she told me that they usually do not accept
new patients this late in their pregnancy, she told me that she will talk to
Dr. Pool tomorrow and see what she thinks that let me know as soon as
possible. I really do not want to go to Professionals for Womens Health, but
right now it seems like it may be our only option. Hopefully Dr. Pool will at
least talk to us.

We are almost 23 weeks

Week 23:Singin' in the womb!

Fetal development in pregnancy week 23

~length
11.4 in | 29 cm
~weight
1 lb | 450 g

Your little womb hi-jacker is starting to kick their break-dance party up a notch now that his/her ears are registering sounds from the outside world!

The sound of a phone ringing (or that catchy ring tone), a thunder clap, or a car honking will actually jar their little ears enough to elicit a kick or violent bout of squirming.

More importantly, this means that their little ears are picking up the sounds of your voice and others around you.

So, if you've been yelling a lot (and really, who doesn't get cranky when they're pregnant?) it's time to reign that in and practice a little self restraint for the sake of your little eavesdropper, who is becoming more exquisitely sensitive to all of your behaviors every day.

The equation is simple: happy healthy mama = happy healthy baby.

Stress during pregnancy is quite literally BAD for your baby's developing brain. It's time to clean out the toxic relationships and situations in your life for your sake and your child's sake.

Take the time to center and be quiet - to reflect on the growing life inside of you and the future you will share together. Read up on infant development and attachment to start preparing yourself for the first time you meet your child.

Other than that I am feeling pretty good. trying to work out a little more. Ive been trying to figure out my money situation by trying to sell my art on etsy.com Slowly I have been adding items. I need to try and think of smaller items I can put on. The Art Collective I am in (CloudHaus) is having a big 1 yr anniversary party this weekend! I have some art in that also so maybe someone will buy something.

Pete and I also have a cloth diaper class that we are going to on saturday. I am really scared about having a baby. I just hope that I can handle it. I know that it is going to be tough the first month. I just hope that I can do it.
