Going to the dark side

I just realized that I have been approaching art in the wrong way, I have been making art for me and not making very much money. I am now going to go where no artist wants to go, commercial. I am going to focus on making art for the people, specifically women, housewives, and people who only want "pretty". My roomate was showing me a picture that she took saying how much she loved it, and wanted to frame it. I as a trained art photographer found very little interest in this very common flower photograph. Then it struck me, people seem not to care about the artistic qualities of the photo its more about the things they find familiar as beautiful. I personally find an extremely weathered building to be more interesting than any flower, but maybe that is why no housewife is begging their husband to buy it so she can put it in her kitchen. Today I am going out with my camera to take advantage of the lovely spring flowers and hopefully come back with some money making shots.
